What to Expect:

History:
Firstly, a thorough history is a crucial part of arriving at a diagnosis. The history provides us with information regarding the mechanism of injury, previous injuries, co-existing conditions, activities of daily living, goals, and many more.

Physical examination:
Here, our practitioners will do a variety of tests to assist them in ruling out any serious injury or condition. The goal of the physical exam is to provide the practitioner with an idea of what is going on. This includes posture analysis, range of motion, neurological examination, palpation, orthopedic testing, gait analysis, or others.

Functional assessment:
Certain people require additional testing that is specific to their physical activity or sport. This assessment revolves around specific and unique tests that are crucial for your requirements. These tests are often conducted as part of a pre-season to assess the current condition of athletes prior to their season with the intention to prevent injury and maximize performance!

Report of findings:
Prior to treatment, we will sit down with each client and explain the examination and results. This is another area where our experts excel and provide you with the necessary information for you to understand exactly what is going on. This is where we will discuss all your treatment options and recommendations prior to your consent to begin therapy.

Treatment:
At Ottawa Health: Performance and Rehabilitation, we strive to provide the most efficient and effective treatments currently available. We do not enforce long-term treatment plans as we hope to have you returning to your daily activities with the tools necessary to prevent the pain that brought you to us in the first place. The only commitment we ask for, is your commitment to overcome!
